Replacing winner-take-all elections with proportional representation should result in politicians prioritizing the needs of their constituents. Proportional representation will also eliminate the motivation to gerrymander. Replacing single choice plurality voting with ranked choice voting will reduce divisive and toxic argumentative politics.

An excellent example of the consequences of plurality voting resulting in a winner by splitting the vote of the opposition and driving extremism. If ranked choice voting had been implemented the outcome probably would have been different. I look forward to Part 2.
