“A constitutional amendment codifying rank-choice voting for federal officers could drive a multi-party system leading to rational coalitions supporting well-reasoned legislation better isolated from corporate control.”
A Constitutional amendment is not required to implement ranked choice voting. Maine has already implemented it. Ranked choice voting may assist in the transition away from the current political duopoly. However, since many consider the POTUS to be the head of his/her political party adjustment of the Electoral College is also needed to create a competing third party. All states should allocate their electoral votes in the same manner as Nebraska and Maine.
“This time, I’m not falling for that subterfuge. This time, I’m voting for progressive change or immediate fascist collapse and the violent revolt that allocates all fascists their well-deserved ignoble end.”
I’m interpreting the above to mean that if Senator Sanders doesn’t win the POTUS Democratic nomination you’ll vote for Mr. Trump in the general election. The Democratic Party establishment is concerned that many Senator Sanders supporters won’t vote at all in the general election if he doesn’t win the nomination. If you, and the others who are “democratic socialists” are truly dedicated why not build the Socialist Party USA instead of trying to hijack the Democratic Party?
