According to the Yang2020 website he is pushing three major programs: UBI to replace jobs lost to automation; Medicare for all; and human centered capitalism. The latter is the only credible one. The 2019 federal budget is about $4.75 trillion and the projected deficit is about $1 trillion. Assuming 300 million adults in the U.S. at $12,000 per year equals $3.6 trillion. If Congress were to pass a UBI it would be dependent upon additional deficit spending. A UBI would not eliminate the so called justification for universal health care. Medicare for all would also be predominantly deficit funded at about $3 trillion per year. I predict Mr. Yang will not only lose to President Trump but will be eliminated from the top 10 Democratic candidates.
