"For the majority of both Trump and Biden voters compromise, working with those in the other Party to reach mutually beneficial goals is not an option."

If congressional and state single member districts were replaced with larger, multi-member districts with the seats filled via proportional representation there would be more incentives to compromise.

"80% of Trump and 84% Biden voters do not trust either politicians from the other party or voters who support politicians from the opposing party."

Much of this is due to the winner take all election methods implemented at the federal and state levels.

"We must decide as a people if we have certain common values, certain united purposes, whether “United States” is simply now a legal name and that we really are not united at all."

The people should publicize that incumbents who place party over country will not be reelected. They will be eliminated in the primaries by challengers with allegiance to the country.
