I agree. However, the solution is not to eliminate the Republican majority in the Senate. The Republican and the Democratic Parties have both degenerated. The Democratic Party has embraced socialism and the Republican Party has embraced deficit spending. Neither party is worthy of running the federal government. Until things change, the least damage to the country may be achieved by maintaining the Democrat majority in the House and the Republican majority in the Senate. That could reduce the partisanship of any law passed. An even better approach may be for the voters to replace all incumbents in the primaries for the next six years.
