“In a recent interview, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stated that the highest income brackets in the US should be taxed at a 70% tax rate.”

Ignorant people frequently propose simple solutions for complex problems. Representative Ocasio-Cortez is one of them. If she would research an issue and evaluate potential solutions before publicly announcing them she might earn some credibility.

“Economist Thomas Piketty wrote a book “Capital in the Twenty-First Century” where he discusses the widening income disparities and comes to the conclusion that they cause social and economic instability, creating havoc in the countries. This is in fact a real problem.”

I agree. When enough people lack adequate food and shelter they will express their frustration verbally toward those they deem responsible. If their complaints are ignored they will eventually express their frustration with civil disobedience that can easily escalate to violence. Widespread violence becomes anarchy which leads to tyranny to establish order.

I advocate for business models that place more importance on employee benefits than maximizing profit. Examples are: benefit corporations; nonprofit corporations, worker cooperatives; and employee owned businesses.

I also advocate for the expansion of unions for all vocations to negotiate fair employee benefits.
