In some states when citizens register to vote they don't declare a party affiliation and any registered voter can select a Republican or Democrat primary - not both - to vote in. A Republican can vote for the strongest Republican candidate or against/for the worst/best Democrat candidate. A Democrat can vote for the strongest Democrat candidate or against/for the worst/best Republican candidate. Third party supporters and independents can also pick which major party primary to vote in. Too bad you don't have the privilege in your state. Why don't you make it happen?
