"It is time to eliminate the Electoral College. "

I disagree. Our government is a republic - not a democracy which historically fails in a relatively short period of time. I advocate for proportional representation of the Electoral College vote: http://fairelectionadvocates.org/electoral-college#ECPropRep

That could be implemented by the states without amending the Constitution.

"Voter registration isn’t automatic."

It should be as should election day/same day registration: http://fairelectionadvocates.org/index.php/registration

"If election day was a national holiday, young, working people would get a paid day off to go to the polls."

But would they? I doubt a holiday would increase voter participation. A better and less expensive option is to encourage no excuse voting by mail. That would allow voters to research candidates and issues online at home while voting and reduce wait times for in-person voting.
