Most humans have an instinct to care for the helpless. Christians are encouraged to assist the sick and the poor. Generosity is the antonym of greed just as nonprofit corporations are the antonym of profit priority corporations. Socialism as typically envisioned forces generosity and American capitalism as typically currently implemented maximizes profit without regard to impact to the environment and humanity. Many Americans are seeking a compromise between socialism and predator capitalism. That is the reason they are becoming receptive to “democratic socialism”.

For some time I have been seeking a compromise and have recently identified two potential alternatives: worker cooperatives and benefit corporations.
