"Simply put and loudly pronounced, we need a middle party to ensure that we remain competitive, innovative, powerful, considerate, and true to ourselves and our country."

If you study our prevalent single choice plurality/first-past-the-post voting system you will learn that it rapidly results in two major parties with no significant competition from third parties. A vote for a third party or independent candidate is considered either wasting a vote or helping to elect the least favored major party candidate. One solution that the states can implement is the utilization of ranked choice voting which eliminates the wasted vote and the spoiler effect. Proportional representation is another solution but it would require an act of Congress to allow the states to have multiple seat congressional districts.
