Thank you for expressing your enlightenment of various forms of capitalism and criticism of socialist capitalism. Would you equate democratic socialism to one of your forms of capitalism?

During one period of my working career my innovative employer implemented “continuous process improvement”. As I recall the objectives were to increase the quality of our products, increase the efficiency of production, and to increase customer satisfaction. The motivation for these objectives was to justify our higher, less competitive, labor rates.

Relocating manufacturing of American developed products to China is a prime example of your definition of “redundant innovations”. Unfortunately, consumer pride in American products has been sacrificed for purchasing the cheapest product.

As automation increases to reduce manufacturing costs associated with personnel (wages, health benefits, retirement, etc.) worker employment opportunities will shift from manufacturing to innovation.
