Thank you for your rebuttal of Umair Hague’s ongoing prolific attack of capitalism! For some time I’ve wondered if his motivation is profit instead of idealism.

However, I think that in the past two decades corporations have reduced the priority of employee benefits and increased the priority of profit. Corporations used to fund employee health care, pensions and life insurance in addition to salary to attract and retain qualified personnel. These benefits have been reduced or eliminated to be competitive in a global economy and to maximize profit. Unfortunately, employees are now looking to the government to provide the security that has been lost.
