The Republican Party state legislatures are passing restrictive voting laws they hope will allow them to maintain control even if they become a minority to the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party is attempting to pass federal legislation that restricts the rights of the states to conduct elections.
Constitutional entities should challenge such laws in the courts. Unfortunately, the courts place more emphasis on precedence than the Constitution to maintain the "status" of the courts.
In order to ensure fair elections the voters must hold violators accountable. That is difficult to accomplish in a plurality election system that evolves into two dominant political parties with no real competition.
