The tax rate on corporations should be limited to less than what will encourage corporations to relocate to countries with more favorable tax rates. Tariffs on imports can deter a corporation from leaving the U.S.
Many of the wealthy participate in philanthropy for humanitarian reasons and to reduce their taxes. We need more “general welfare” businesses in American that focus on providing the services that the poor can’t afford instead of focusing on max-profit. Such general welfare businesses would be good candidates for philanthropical investment.
