The U.S. Constitution has no jurisdiction regarding abortion or infanticide. A liberal Supreme Court majority had to fabricate the “right to privacy” derived from the 14th Amendment to justify the Roe vs Wade decision. Both are therefore states’ rights issues. Congress should use Article III, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution to direct the Supreme Court that it has no past, present or future appellate jurisdiction on abortion or infanticide. Federal tax dollars should not be spent either to permit or prevent abortions.
If a law is established regarding the legality or illegality of abortions it should be up to the state legislatures or local officials. Our local church has established housing for unwed or abused mothers to carry their pregnancy to full term. It also provides the mother assistance to begin raising the child, to have the child adopted or to be raised by foster parents. I financially support the church’s efforts. Personally, I oppose abortions for convenience. Most newborns can be placed if the mother does not want the infant.
