Typically inflation occurs prior to default. Those hurt most by inflation are retirees and people living on fixed incomes. For decades the Republican Party platform has stressed a compact federal government and fiscal responsibility. However, in recent years the GOP has failed to act accordingly. Regarding deficit spending there is no difference between a Congress with a Democrat or Republican majority. Therefore I advocate ridding Congress of the hypocrites.
