"We reject policy extremism and realize the problem is our leaders — or more specifically, how we elect our leaders and what choice we truly have. . . . It’s time to change this and ranked choice voting is how we get there."

Ranked choice voting will allow residents to vote their conscience without acting as a spoiler. But it does not eliminate winner take all. The Forward Party should emphasize the need for ranked choice voting and proportional representation. That is the way a third party can become established and actually grow to compete with the duopoly.

"Another option being considered is running as one of the two major-party candidates, and self-identifying as being Forward. "

It is extremely unlikely that the option would result in winning a primary and obtaining general election ballot access. Although the electorate in the past has been duped into supporting a candidate who claims to be a member of a party even though his past record shows otherwise. The honorable option would be to gain general election ballot access via recognized third party convention or independent candidate petition signatures.
