What is really needed in this country is a Congress in which no political party has a majority in either house and will maintain that status for the foreseeable future. Then parties would either accomplish nothing and get replaced or be forced to compromise and reach a consensus for what is best for the people. Unfortunately, as long as we have single seat congressional districts instead of larger multiple seat districts with proportional political party representation there will be two major parties fighting each other for dominance.
